Annual Labor Day Carnival
The Club's annual Labor Day carnival is a large-scale event, featuring rides, games and food. The carnival runs from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. On Labor Day, the Mendham Labor Day Parade marches up Main Street ending at Borough Field. The carnival is open from mid-morning through 9:15 p.m., at which point the mayor will draw the winning ticket for the 50/50 raffle and the fireworks show begins.
The Big One!
The Club operates a 50/50 raffle in conjunction with the Labor Day carnival. Tickets are $5, and the prize pool has grown to over $90,000 in 2023. The Club's share of the proceeds are used to fund youth athletics in the commuinity.
Vendors are brought in to operate the rides, but members staff all games and food operations. It is a massive undertaking - planning for which begins in January of each year. All 200+ members are needed to make this event the success that it is...
Fire Dept. Competition
Several local Fire Departments march in the Mendham Labor Day parade. A wonderful event following the parade is the Hose Competition, where each department forms teams to compete against each other in a contest of Fire Hose skill. It's a unqiue contest to watch, and great way to cool off on a hot Labor Day afternoon!
